WARNING...lot's of pictures of the kids. Just realized after posting we never took a family shot. Two kids are hard enough to try and capture.
Mark Horne took a week off work(other than the two weeks at x-mas we close the office)!! First time in seven years, last time was our honeymoon. We headed up to South Haven, Michigan last week, where the water is clear and it is suppose to be cooler. It was pretty hot and humid for an August at Lake Michigan, but it was much better than the heat at home. We had a great week playing in the lake, eating ice cream, feeding the ducks, strolling the town and eating an absurd amound of blueberries. Coach & Mama C rented a place for 2 weeks. The first week Uncle Ben & Aunt Becca and their families enjoyed time at the lake and week 2 the Hornes invaded. My Grammie lives about 5 minutes away so we got to see her as well. Uncle Rick and Uncle Chuck & their families were also in town. It is always good to catch up with my mom's side of the family when we are in town. This is where I grew up going every summer and staying at my grandparents house just down the road. Ohhh the memories. It was fun to see the kids especially Megan have so much fun in the lake. She loved all the waves. The first day the water was a little rough and she looked at the waves at one point and said" I have had enough, can you just stop for a second", once she realized it was part of the water, she was a mermaid, going under the water and swimming everywhere. The best part was she could touch forever. She wore us out!! Wyatt wasn't a huge fan of the sand. He loved the water, but for a maniac crawler this just wasn't his ideal space. He would rather explore the house and the deck. He was in stroller heaven. I don't know how many miles I put on that double bob, but he loves a stroll, so much too see and hear! It was a great week and good to get away. The kids did great on the car ride. Now back to reality, it is good to be home!!!
This is how we roll. Did you think we would leave the bike behind? The car top carrier was a great addition, especially when you pack the double BOB.
We woke up the first morning and it was raining. Megan wanted to go the lake so bad. The down pour didn't stop her and Coach from heading to the beach. At least she decided to put a bathing suit on, she wanted to go naked. She never made it into the lake, she rolled in the sand and swam in the puddles.
Sitting on a bench watching the boat come in and the ducks swim
So sweet.
This beach bum was in HEAVEN.
Where is Megan?
Wyatt's opinion of the sand!
Megan and Coach strolling through town heading to the bakery to get a doughnut. I mean doesn't everyone go to the bakery in their bikini??
Wyatt's cage for the week. So happy in the stroller. Where to next?
Happy boy outside!!
Megan feeding the ducks. I swear the ducks gained 10lbs last week with all the food she fed them.
Whitey was her favorite duck.
Playing tennis with her Great Grandmother-Grammie. Telling Grammie she is not very good & the pink two sizes too small stinky minnie slippers as well. Grammie thought she should hit the ball.
Doesn't she know that I am a princess. She insisted on wearing this dress, bug spray sweat and all. She was a twirling princess.
Wyatt & his Great Grandmother. He is holding his hand made stocking.
Megan twirling at the end of the Pier. Note to self: Don't take 2 kids to the end of the Pier by yourself. One wants out to practice her Titantic moves and the other one is bucking in the parked stroller b/c we have stopped moving & I don't know which one is going to jump in first.
Ice Cream. Superman ice cream was a staple. Vacation necessity right? This girl could take down a cone in no time.
Free on the pier, snap away.
One happy girl running in the sand. Probably about to chase the "nasty ole sea gulls"
Yeah, Wyatt. Happy he is on the wood plank.
Another attempt at a family photo.
