Harpeth River ride...The "Real" Lance

Saturday, June 11th we went out to the Nissan HQ and supported all the riders in the annual Harpeth River Ride. Mark was pretty excited that Lance Armstrong and his team would be joining the ride. Of course Mark also hadn't decided how far he would ride(3o, 40, 62 or 100 miles). He and some teammates were parking cars by 5:30a.m. and it was a hot day. The kiddos and I came out to see "our" Lance and see the real Lance and we accomplished our goal!!

Mark with the kiddos after finishing the century ride!! He did the whole thing. I think a certain someone may have motivated him!! He rode with Lance some and his teammates. Pretty cool that the best cyclist is out in Nashville doing a century ride. Mark did finish before Lance, so he beat him-right??
After Mark finished we were over talking and Marks says, "oh there is Lance and his team and truck finishing." I mean right there, no camera or phone. Clear as day less than 50 ft from us, Lance cruises by says nice ride to Mark and hi to the kids. All we have is the visual memories. Oh well it was worth the heat and sweaty tired kiddos.
Megan having some fun after the race. The kids LOVE to drink out of Mark's water bottles.
Cooling off in the riders sprinklers with our friend Sarah and Miller. Good times with our riding friends.
That afternoon we headed over to the Wernicks to ride the tractor for Collin's 3rd birthday. It was a low key celebration but the kids had so much fun playing with their friends and riding around.
Here they go on one of the tractor rides around the house. Good times!!
