HORNE FAMILY: Labor Day weekend....Home Makeover

Labor day weekend was a four day weekend of a lot of hard work. We have decided to replace all the flooring in our house. Most of it on our own! Now the deal was that I of course would be limited help but would be on Megan duty. It has worked out. Mark got a lot done over the weekend, thanks to the expertise of his flooring partner Jonathan G. He got Mark started on installing hardwoods. Let's just say with two dentists working our floors are PERFECT, I mean every inch matches up. They got the foyer and dining room done in one day....poor Mark thought they could knock it all out, but Jonathan's gave him a reality check. Mark continued the rest of the rooms & hallways on his own. The rest of the house is getting new carpet. If you haven't removed carpet before it is NASTY. So the house is in a little transition right now, but can't wait for it to be all done. Megan has been a true champ during all of this.For all the mass chaos the only thing she has done is starting crying when she goes down for a nap or bed...it is a near death scream, which is so different from the kid who loves her bed and is a good sleeper. I don't know if this is the change in house or just being almost 2 and testing us. She has to wear shoes in the house all the time, which is hard for someone who is learning to take them off on her own. Then she is told "no, no" on certain rooms she can't go into while in transition. So she refers to the floors as "dadda's floors." Then our carpet is "nasty" and then "dadda is noisy." Oh and when we tell her we have to go run errands she says "carpets". The child has spent WAY too much time at Home Depot that she may get on payroll. I will post pictures of the complete home makeover. Ohh and not to forget we are getting a new roof this week. Megan says"roophers are bangin". Hope everyone had a great weekend.
