Christmas Party Weekend

Megan at Gigi's and Grandads. She loves their manger set-up and loves to play with all the pieces.
Saturday night Christmas party. Megan went climbed up and down the stairs. As soon as she would get to the top she would check out the people below and then say " Night, Night". At home once she climbs the stairs she takes a nap or goes to bed. Ohhh what kids remember!
Headed up the stairs-AGAIN
Just for the record. Megan doesn't like ANY Santa this year. Even if it is family!!
Checking out all the cousins on the floor opening their gifts from Santa.

This past weekend we had our share of holiday parties. Friday was our last day of work for 2008! What a year at the Nally Horne institute.  After we closed out the books it was off to change cloths and head over to Doug and Susan's house for our office Christmas party. It was a good party with lots of good food and drinks. Saturday morning we headed over to Aunt Tracy and Uncle Jeremy's house for the Kane family holiday brunch. Since Ben and Lydia are not going to make it out to Colorado we had a little Christmas party before we all left. We all enjoyed Jeremy and Tracy's new Wii.  We had a little bump in the road when Megan woke up from her nap with a 102.5 temperature. We were SHOCKED!! She had never had a fever that high. After a little tylenol and a bath it was down to 100.2-thank goodness. The crazy part is that she was so happy and drank and ate when she woke up. After talking to the pediatrician we learned that he wouldn't be concerned until it spiked to 105-106 degrees and her appetite and enegy decreased. It dropped some more and see seemed fine. Who knows, teething, allergies or just being a kid? So, then it was off to Mark's extended family Christmas party, otherwise known as the Shelbyville Christmas. The great thing about this party is that Mark's cousin who lives in the subdivision right across from us is the new host, so we are thrilled with our quick drive time. We had a great time seeing all of our extended family and Megan loved playing on the stairs and hanging out with her second cousins. Sunday morning was the Horne family Chrismas. Ohh how much fun watching Luke, Taryn and Megan open gifts. Surprisingly Megan liked opening gifts. She was more into tearing the tissue paper into tiny pieces, but got right in the middle while Luke and Taryn tore open gifts. Of course Gigi and Grandad spoiled the kids, but isn't that what Christmas is about? That evening we flew out to Colorado. Megan did great the first half of the three hour flight, but about half way she started screaming. I thought she couldn't get comfortable to go back to sleep, but it was her ears. It was so pitiful to listen to your child cry b/c they are in pain and there is nothing you or anyone can do. Thank goodness after about 45 minutes, she calmed down and settled back in. We made it safe and were so glad to get to my parents house and get settled. We are hoping for a better flight home on New Year's Eve.
