Christmas Eve Service

Everyone has arrived in Colorado!! Uncle Ben and Aunt Lydia are in Arkansas for a few days and Uncle Aldon will fly in for the weekend. Tonight we attended the 3:00p.m. Children's Christmas Eve Service, because unlike last year we knew Megan would not sleep through the midnight service. I have no pictures, which is a huge disappointment, so your own imagination will have to do. This was the first time Megan has been in the sanctuary for more than 10 minutes-which was during her baptism. She thought it was fun to play with the candle lights and point at all the kids and say "baby" for the first part of the service. After about 7 minutes into the service she decided to play in the aisle. She participated with Mark's help in bringing some hay up to the manger in the front of the church. Apparently, that was just a warm-up for what was to come. She then went to the back of the church and talked to the older ladies helping with the service. When it was time to go back to the front of the church for the sermon, she was a little hesitant, but Mark held her hand and they headed up front-waving and pointing at everyone. The kids were so cute and quite funny with their answers to questions. Some were playing with the manger, some were waving to their parents, others were telling us that Santa was almost here. We all couldn't help but laugh during the Christmas message. Megan was a little restless on Mark's lap. They were sitting to the side and listening to the message. Well sister had warmed up and felt comfortable with her new friends and audience and decided to wander over a little closer. She then laid on her back right in the front, pulled up her dress and started doing snow angel movements on the floor. She continued this and then danced back to Mark. After she had enough of her performance she got a little fussy and Mark took her to the back where they ran around the rest of the time. Mark was just shocked and I couldn't believe she was doing it as we all sat in our pew and laughed. I think everyone had a great time, including Megan who made her sanctuary debut quite memorable. I guess there is a reason she always goes to the nursery and this truly was a service for the kids. She had a great time with her new friends and is now sleeping waiting for Ho Ho to arrive.
